Having a baby has a way of making people re-evaluate their lives. Since having my second son two years ago, I've noticed myself being more cautious as to what kind of products I buy and what kind of foods I feed my family. I hate to admit it, but I was way behind on the green "trend", mostly because of the cost of going green, but also from simple ignorance. I never knew that we, as Americans, use over 500 BILLION plastic bags a year. Yes! BILLION, with a B. After reading that statistic, I knew I had to do something, so I started doing some reading and educating myself... Then I got scared. After reading about the "FrankenFood" or GMO's or BPA in our Babies' bottles, hormones being pumped into our livestock etc etc etc... what the hell have we done to ourselves?!
That's when I started going about finding a solution. I read information about everything from switching to bio diesel, lowering your carbon footprint, growing sustainable foods... in your own back yard, switching to cloth diapers, letting the baby run around naked (true story, not made up).... Then I got scared again. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do enough to make a difference, so I decided to take baby steps... No reclaimed Burger King oil in my tank, but I've got a good start. As I was reading up on little green steps to take, I came across the idea of making your own reusable sandwich bags, since I didn't see myself ever having time to make one myself, so I decided a store bought reusable bag is better than no reusable bag at all. This is when I came across the SnackTaxi. I had seen several other bloggers giving them away on their blog in the past, so I did what any good blogger would do and I asked the nice folks at SnackTaxi if I could try their products and share them with my readers... Lucky for me (and you), they said yes!
I received my SnackTaxi, Sandwich taxi in about 3 or 4 days. It was nicely packaged and arrived unharmed. I took it out and looked it over. It was very nicely stitched with no "oops's", it is a very upbeat color and looked very modern and "hip". I noticed it had a big enough opening to easily accommodate a decent sized sandwich. It's definitely not gonna fit a double decker monster sammie, but it is sufficient for "normal" sized sandwiches. You could also easily put other snacks in it, but it's specially sized for sandwiches. The SnackTaxi comes in lots of cool designs, here are a few of my faves...
Snack Taxi is the brainchild of a Massachusetts Mom of 3, who, as we all are, was trying to find a way to cut down on all those plastic lunch bags the kids use. Not only is this a green product, but I also love that she is committed to keeping her business local and refuses to outsource any of her labor, it is all done from a home based work shop. How often do you find a GOOD product made entirely in the USA? Green and made in the USA... Double Score!!! The SnackTaxi is hand washable and will last quite a long time with regular use.
I really like this useful product and I know you will too. The nice folks over at SnackTaxi were generous enough to allot me 1 Sandwich Taxi to give one lucky reader.
I know you all get tired of all the Rafflecopter style giveaways, having to "like" this page and "like" that page, so I've decided to switch it up a little bit.
At the end of the month, I will pick one lucky reader to be "Reader of the Month" and I will give them this awesome prize. There are no requirements, other than being a loyal reader and live in the US (shipping reasons only, I love you Canadians too, just can't afford your tariffs).
